It’s Cairo in 2014, three years after the start of the Arab Spring and Egypt’s Revolution. Former Army Chief Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is elected, a win that is heavily criticised by international organisations. The people of Cairo are tired and disappointed. They no longer have faith in a democratic future for their country and much of their revolutionary enthusiasm has disappeared. As never before, their country is divided.
Life becomes more difficult, previously powerful figures have gained even more power and the poor are even worse off than before. It seems as if the Arab Spring never happened. This is a story of the everyday lives of the inhabitants of Cairo & how they live under their new President.
